Walking is a great way to get exercise. It’s free, you can do it anytime and it’s easy to fit into a schedule. It’s what we do as humans…we walk! It’s only natural.

Walking allows you to improve your heart health and increase your endurance while burning calories. Physical activity does not have to be hard. Something as simple as a daily brisk walk can help you live a healthier life!

Daily walking also can help elevate your mood and spirit. Studies have shown that people who walk outdoors and take in natural surroundings have less depression and anger. Additional benefits of daily walking include: managing weight, strengthening your immune system, and increasing energy.

Tracking steps is an effective way to motivate yourself and improve your health by setting attainable goals. The faster, farther and more frequently you walk, the greater the benefits. Walking can be done at a leisurely pace or a brisk pace (about 3 miles per hour). It’s completely up to you!
